Urban paranoia, global peace, drugs and race conflicts are some of the themes in The Getaway People's swinging universe. The music is heavily influnced by American blues but with far more groove and funk. The band call their sound "sweet, bad and with elements from indie and rap". The band had their debut in the US on Columbia Records and they have chosen to have their base in New York. They are perhaps one of the next really big Scandinavian bands on the international scene, with their energetic songs which will get most people on the dance floors.
