Dutch radiostation to present Danish music weekly

The Dutch radio station Kink.fm will from today, present a new Danish band to it’s audience every Tuesday.
This will be through the program “New Music”, where the DJ and radio producer Henk Kanning, with the titel “SPOT ON Denmark”, will interview and play new Danish acts – and also provide special focus on the Danish scene in connection with special danish showcase events.

The first band to be featured is Choir of Young Believers, who Henk interviewed at the Iceland Airwaves Festival in Reykjavik last week. Henk was so pleased with the interview, that he has decided to transmit it in two parts – next Tuesday as well. Future artist to be featured will be Asteroid Galaxy Tour, The Ravoenettes etc…
The presentation will be a collaboration between Kink.fm, The SPOT Festival and SPOT ON Denmark (ROSA and MXD), besides Henk Kanning was nominated for the “Gouden RadioRing” for the “best radioshow” in Holland, two weeks ago!

-I have listened more and more to Danish music through the years, and if I have to point out something that distinguishes it, it is the it’s diversity and quality – no matter the genre. Mew, The Raveonettes, Choir of Young Believers, Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Volbeat, Trentemøller and so on… If it’s metal or electronica, indie, urban or something – Denmark has some relevant and interesting choices. Also in comparison to Sweden and Norway. At the moment I find, that Denmark stands for quality – and that is why I want to focus on Danish music.

The program “New Music” is transmitted every evening. The Danish feature will be played on Tuesday’s at ca. 20.20 Henk Kanning explains. His radio program can be heard at Kink.com – or on iTunes (Look under alternative radio stations).
