National Transport Support

If you or your band are planning concerts and tours in Denmark, you can apply for the National Transport Support Scheme.

The fund is administered by JazzDanmark, but all bands/artists—regardless of genre—are eligible to apply.

TO BE ELIGIBLE, THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA MUST BE MET:

  • The concerts must offer tariff-based payment.

  • The concerts must be open to the public.

  • Admission must be charged.

  • The music performed must be predominantly original.

If your band meets these requirements and applies within the deadlines, you are guaranteed support (unlike the international genre organizations’ funds, where artistic committees prioritize among many applicants for relatively limited resources).

APPLICATION PERIOD:
You can apply for national transport support in the month following your concert(s). Specifically, applications must be submitted between the 1st and the 15th of the following month. For example, if you performed concerts in February, your application must be submitted between March 1 and March 15.

FUNDING SOURCE:

The funds for the National Transport Support Scheme come from the Ministry of Culture's current Music Action Plan, with an annual allocation of 4.5 million DKK. Since July 1, 2016, JazzDanmark has administered the fund on behalf of the Danish Arts Foundation.

Legal Basis: The decision is made in accordance with the Music Act, cf. Consolidation Act No. 32 of January 14, 2014, § 3, No. 8, cf. Act No. 458 of May 8, 2013, on the Danish Arts Foundation §3, subsection 1.

Text annotation No. 208 on § 21.21.01 in the 2020 Finance Act authorizes the Danish Arts Foundation to delegate the administration of selected funds for music and performing arts purposes to genre organizations (ROSA, Tempi, JazzDanmark, and Art Music Denmark) and the association turneteater.dk, including decision-making authority and fund disbursements.

JazzDanmark, on behalf of the Danish Arts Foundation, makes the final decision in the case.
