Pop-Pilot Music Talks
There is a lot of prejudices, biased opinions and inequality in the world – and in the music industry. Pop-Pilot Music Talks was the offspring of Pop-Pilot Camp with the intention of shedding light on the gender imbalance in the music industry and to strengthen young people's confidence in their own skills regardless of their gender. Action, independence and empowerment were the key words for the project.
At the forefront of Pop-Pilot Music Talks were professional (female) musicians who talked about gender and identity based on their own experiences. They were able to captivate all listeners – regardless of gender – by sharing stories from their own career path, a path that was not necessarily easy. The target group for the talks were efterskoler (boarding schools) and youth educational centres. Pop-Pilot Music Talks were held from 2020 to 2023.
