#YouCanAlsoBeA

#YouCanAlsoBeA is a series of workshops organised and hosted by Aarhus Lydforening that aim to advance gender balance in sound engineering and music technology. With continued support by organisations and foundations, #YouCanAlsoBeA addresses the existing gender disparities, foster inclusivity, and empower aspiring women, non-binary and minorised people to thrive in these fields.

The workshops are for people who are already working in the music field but also for those who are simply curious and interested to learn more about specific areas of the industry – it is not required to have any prior experience. The workshops combine both practical knowledge and the chance to expand network, all in a safe and welcoming environment.

Current and previous partners include: DMF Aarhus, Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium, KORMA, Kulturskolen Kolding, MGK Syd, Radar, ROSA, Sonic College, Tuborgfondet, turkis and Vega.

In October 2025 Aarhus Lydforening presents the 6th edition of #YouCanAlsoBeA Sound Engineer in collaboration with Tuborgfondet, turkis and ROSA. The workshop is for all who are curious about live sound engineering and participants will not only get hands-on experience but also get ample possibilities to network.
